Step-by-step guide
Requirements
Contrast webinars
HubSpot (optional)
Create a Poll
Poll setup
Go to
Studio>Polls>Create a poll.Question and options: add a question and at least two answer options.
Single choice: people select one answer. Use it to identify someone's main priority or biggest challenge.
Multiple choice: people select more than one answer. Use it to understand several interests or challenges at once.
Hide results from viewers: poll results are visible to everyone by default. Check this option if you don't want attendees to see how others voted.
Prepare in advance: you don't have to create polls while you're live. Saved polls appear in the
Pollspanel.
Launch a Poll and Put It on Stream
Live polls and on-stream display
Go to
Studio>Polls>Start poll.Voting overlay: viewers vote through the poll overlay above the chat, without leaving the webinar.
Real-time results: results update live in the Studio as people answer.
On-stream display: click the green plus button when hovering over a poll to put it on stream. Its design automatically matches your Contrast brand kit, and results update in real time.
Stop and remove: click the stop poll indicator to stop collecting answers, then remove the poll from the stage.
Replay voting: leave a poll open after your webinar ends so people watching the replay can still vote.
Review the Results
Poll results and CSV export
Go to the event admin dashboard >
Pollstab. Results overview: see how people answered each poll.
CSV download: export your poll results to analyze them further or use the data elsewhere.
Audience insight: use results to understand what your audience needs, which topics might deserve another webinar, and what content could help them.
Send Poll Answers to HubSpot
HubSpot sync
If Contrast webinars is connected to HubSpot, poll responses sync automatically. No manual export or upload is needed.
Activity timeline: each contact's poll answer appears in their HubSpot activity history, giving your team context on their interests and challenges.
Segments: group contacts by their answers and send them more relevant resources. Example: people whose biggest challenge is getting people to sign up to their webinars.
Workflows: trigger actions from poll answers, such as notifying the contact owner through Slack so sales can follow up with more context.
Turn Poll Results into Content
Branded result images
Contrast webinars automatically creates branded images of your poll results.
Where to use them: newsletters, social media, or other marketing content, such as a LinkedIn post, a newsletter insight, or a data point in your next campaign.
No designer needed: images are automatically branded.
Common problems and solutions
Can I create polls before my webinar?
Yes. You can set up polls in advance, so you don't have to create them while you're live.
Can attendees see how others voted?
Yes, poll results are visible to everyone by default. Check Hide results from viewers to keep them private.
Can I show a poll on stream?
Yes. Hover over the poll and click the green plus button. The poll's design automatically matches your Contrast brand kit. If you plan to show the poll on stream, keep the question and each option to roughly 40 characters or fewer, and use 5 options or fewer so the overlay shows everything.
Do poll answers sync to HubSpot?
Yes, if Contrast webinars is connected to HubSpot. Responses are automatically added to the contact's activity timeline, and you can use them in segments and workflows.
